The answer to your question is an emphatic no...  I can see why you might think less negatively about the clearing away, but don't forget that not all the elements in a poem are necessarily autobiographical..!  Hawaii, for instance, is an afterthought.  Frangipanis are among my favourite flowers, which is why I have them, and they are much favoured in bridal bouquets.. all sorts of motifs spill out into the works, so you can never be sure what's real and what's not.  I haven't worked much on the haiku.. must get started.

When I'm researching I need lots of resources to hand.. I prefer to keep my actual desk clear, that's why there are books everywhere else. Or were... !

thanks for visiting, I'm glad you liked it.

Mneme, did the friend help put these books and pens away, for lovemaking?
That would be poetry in action, or work come to life, or celebration of frangipani in the trpoical heat of passion. A cluttered desk is so very interesting (minus the dust balls, of course!) Shalom from Neil. Thanks for your kind visits.

This sounds like my desk except less chaotic
even to the pool out of the window. Everyone averts their gaze from my desk

Thanks... I am not crazy yet, even if my home life is. I'm happy most of the time.

Now that it's put away, I won't either LOL. I'm usually tidy (ish) unless I'm working on something and then it often spreads out.

Excellent, Mneme - the best thing I've read for a while!
Pathos, minutiae - everything. Disorganisation organised perfectly.

I, personally, could not have your problem - it would drive me crazy, but if that's the way you like it, enjoy it, stay warm, and do with it what you will.  Be happy, Sweetie.

When it comes to untidiness, none can match me, bacause, if I am tidy with my things, I can't seem to find them.

Not really.. thanks for your thoughts.  I wrote another comment to my earlier post (All By Myself) which sets things out a bit more clearly - for myself as much as for anyone.

I'm home for a family visit, until the end of March. Spring is well on its way and I am loving the daffodils, which come up in August-September in Australia.

you are a poppet.. I do feel a bit lost. I have posted another rambling comment to "All by myself," which puts things into some perspective. If I didn't take this seriously, I would have gone a long time ago. I might work it out eventually.

I am quite organized, and the writing is partly for me, mostly for research (English Lit).

Thanks for visiting - it is sometimes quite tidy, but when I'm in the middle of research I can spread out a bit.

nice to see you back. I used to be able to work at home comfortably when there was more routine, with the children and my husband out by eight thirty but things have changed a lot. There is less structure than there used to be.

Sounds practical to me
yet there is an undercurrent of unease. Is everything alright?

My office space looks just as you describe pretty much, but I couldn't have done as good a writing job describing it as you did here luv. It always feels like you are never living for you, the way you would want deep down inside, I wish I could give you wings to fly off to some safe place luv. Well that's my take on it anyway, I just 'feel' things deeply.

Hey....working at home just makes me stressed...if I work somewhere else I can at least leave it behind and pretend it isn't there....
