How are you doing? It is a drag at best to move. Hope all goes well. Get in touch when you are able to concentrate of the stuff.

Bel--
Moving to a new place can be difficult, so it's good that you've found something to do, something that makes you feel as if you're making a difference--and you will be making one!  Best of luck.

you are more than entitled to your opinion of the current situation but I would appreciate it, if you didn't bring it here.  I will do what I do long after the war is a distant memory to most people.  There are men and women not only from this conflict but also of conflicts past that deserve to be remembered and honored.

Bel Baby
I'm very happy that you will have something familiar there to help ground you and get your roots off to a healthy start.  You also have something familiar here - please don't forget that.  You're in my heart, sweetie!  I know this is going to be difficult, but you're a survivor.  I have faith in you.  I miss you, too!

bel......

You know I'm only playing with you, don't you?  I just wanted to get you stirred up.  haha

Don't worry, wherever Carl is, that's where you're gonna be.  I gave up so much to follow my husband through his 20 years in the military and another 18 in the Federal Government.  Some of it bothered me at the time, but now the retirement made it all worthwhile.  It was all for the best.

You'll figure that out one day too.

Now, you quit your bellyaching - I told you things would work out.  You are doing what you're supposed to be doing.

Why can't we think of a war free world.

Bel -
Everything happens for a reason. Your move north and "their" need for your help is what is supposed to happen for you. Sounds like a great adventure to me!

bel,
as far as I am concerned, the glass is at least half full. Through Virginia you will already have friends up there, and something worthwhile to do; Carl will have a steady job; some of the country is spectacular; Carl will have a steady job; summers are great; Carl will have a steady job; in winter you can learn to ski; Carl will have a steady job; no book store? There is Amazon; Carl etc...

You will add another l and go to the ball. You are going to like it. If you go about your business and set boundaries where you are comfortable you will be able to set about your writing, and a business if you choose and the military help. Moving is not taking anything away from you, just taking you away from some stuff to some other stuff. I will get the stuff to you after you are settled there is a lot of information. I am praying for all of you.

Hi Bel, I think that this is an overwhelming brilliant coincidence. Run
with it.

I already have my work cut out telling Leone not to expect the worst when she goes to the U.S.  She doesn't like the way the towns are set up, didn't like the schools, didn't like the fact that she'd be so far away from where she's felt a sense of belonging.  I tell her, she's going to be sad, she's going to be damned homesick, but because she'll have so much to do, she won't feel it as much were it the opposite way round, and we were moving from U.S. to Ireland.

I tell her that she should make out she's fecking brilliant, the bees knees, spider's ankles.  To walk in to every room like she belongs there, and to think of herself what we think of her any time she's in doubt or meets resistance.

I know it's way, way, way different circumstances, but Bel, I can't imagine that someone like yourself will have any difficulty finding their own corner.

It will not happen.  I despise politics and I like my privacy.  I have other things that are much more important to me than selling my soul to the highest bidder and that is how I view politics.

It depends on how you like to live.  Is it a horrible place?  Not really.  It's very pretty in the summer but it has very, very long winters which I do not fare well with.  It is also extremely isolated and the worst part for me is the closest book store is over sixty miles away.

I'm so glad that you have that to look forward to.  I know absolutely nothing about the UP but you are making me feel that I don't really want to know anything about it except that you will be there.   I'm hoping you will be happier than you think you are going to be.
