Agreement
Or, Shawn, it could be that, since my comments are true, they have nothing to add but their tacit agreement, indicated by their ever so loud silence.

Thanks, Shawn!

I agree with you.   It is a dilemma for many Christians to even acknowledge errors in worship, theology, etc.  If they could only differentiate between what God has ordained and what man has ordained, they might be helped.

Thanks again for your comments and added information.

Nice Blog!

Sadly, the reasons Christians aren't responding en mass to your comments has nothing to do with your logic or common sense approach: it has to do with their fear. Looking at a blog which challenges their assumptions is "sinning," and thus of the Devil, and thus evil. The Bible tells them this, apparently.

Keep challenging these sad souls, however: it is important for those like myself, who sometimes feel alone and isolated in this magical-thinking, capitalists-for-Jesus world.

Ps. A great book you might want to read: The Gospel According to Jesus, by Stephen Mitchell (HarperPerennial, 1992). It takes a look at the historical figure and the sometimes violent attempts by the Church to edit his words. Much of what the Bible claims Jesus said he did not, but were later additions by much smaller minds after he had been murdered. Check into it, and keep up the great work!
