Just concentrate on being the writer that bel_1965 is - and should be.

This is a great post/entry/story.  And, I agree with every word of what you're saying.  Finding your voice is probably the hardest obstacle to overcome when first starting to write.  I've found whenever I try to write like somebody else, my stories and words fall flat on their face.  As far as capturing the reader with the most subtle of details. . , I think that's the key to it all.  Very interesting post.

Bel...
I learned the very same things in English 101 and English 102...the early mechanics of writing.  I can write seriously and fluently if I really focus (liek in my poetry) but how I talk in person usuallys follows me into my blogs...can't help it!

It can be a useful exercise, to write something in someone else's
style. It stretches our mental muscles. But our real personalities have a way of seeping through and taking charge. Read any work on Blogit, and you'll find distinct impressions of the thought process and emotions behind the words. :)

Good Morning Bel.......I like your writing, it's clear, concise and really

draws me in, not to mention it is always interesting and/or funny! In my opinion, your personality very much comes out in your writing..and as Martha Stewart would say, "that's a good thing!" LOL

Well,
And here is our darling bel
She's lucid and writes well
And has mastered Apollo's art
By always writing from her heart!

Bel
No matter what I do, or try to do, I can only be me and do things my way.  If I can get something written so that it pleases me, that's all that matters.  Sometimes it takes me many editings.

I will never be the writer that some of my favorite writer's are; but I also realize that is what makes each unique.  Thank you for the lovely compliment.
