That is sooooo cool that her teacher did that for Pam.  By the way, you wrote your story so well, I had no problem at all imagining the smile on her face when she told you that she had been made a "helper" to the substitute teacher.

Bel, From what I know about you, I feel you're a great mom. You can
pick up on things real well. In my opinion Teachers who take time to deal with the needs of individual students are the better teachers.

Pam is so lucky to have you as my kids were to have Joyce.

And Joyce taught classes of co-op students all of whom were in difficulty at home.

She mothered 'em all luv. Good for you my friend; for finding they ways to help Pam.

bel,
Pam is very lucky. It's a privilege to be praised by her teacher(s).

I think you're doing a wonderful job with Pam. And although it's sad that her relationship with her bio Mom is so hurtful, I'm sure that for Pam you're her 'real' Mom anyway!

It all brings back memories, because when I grew up I was in a similar situation...

But what about that kitty litter or coal dust or whatever it is that's all over your page? Is function (in this case legibility) being sacrificed at the altar of beauty? I've been thinking about making an appointment with an optometrist, although I usually don't need reading glasses...

We'd ALL be very lucky to have a person like you in our lives.  What comes naturally to you is exactly what Pam needs right now and will continue to need into her adulthood.  Your awareness and concern is a gift she will come to appreciate.  Additionally, I FIRMLY believe that kids learn by example.  You're showing her a better way!  You're a blessing to her and wonderful example to us all!

I wish I could really tell you but it was a matter of trial and error and some really good help from a friend as well.  I almost wiped out all of my blog at one point, so I would probably not be the the person to give you instructions LOL!

Bel.....
Sometimes when I read the stories you write.....I see a potter molding the clay...from time to time....stopping to correct any imperfections that may arise.....you catch my drift?
