*gasp* I've written so many times about my hanai family! And I've included the definition of Hanai!
LOL
Hanai is a Hawaiian term meaning something along the lines of adopted. Like I am so incredibly close to their family that they have adopted me as a member of the family. It's not legally done, but in Hawaii it holds a great deal of meaning.

He is definitely on a good road
Taking responsibility for what's happened to him is a terrific sign that he's going to be ok when he's released. It is so great that you two are getting close again. It will be love like yours that will help him so much.
