I'd love to be on that road again...
I have special memories of a place called Craggy Gardens, and also, Cade's Cove, down in the Great Smokies.

it really is. I like the title too - a fifty mile view is about right.

beautiful view.. it makes me nostalgic for NC.  I once walked just a tiny bit of the Appalachian Trail, near the border with Tennessee. We were in Spruce Pine for a weekend hockey tournament.  Those were happy days.

I plan on doing much more exploring and meditating this coming year. The boys will be happy for it, too. There is so much to see and experience here. Thanks for having a look.

It is definitely a source of inspiration. Yesterday, it was cold and windy. I was underdressed and I got chilled down to the bone. I had some work to do up there and I didn't take into account a 10 degree difference in the air temp and twice the wind. brrrr!

I love the Blue Ridge-- have seen it in summer, autumn and winter,
but not in the springtime yet, but I have heard how gorgeous the flame azaleas are...   You're lucky to have it in your backyard!

Thanks. I wanted to share the entire experience of standing there. Only part of it was relayed here. The wind, the fresh air, and there is such a feeling of being lifted up standing there.

Sorry Avant for saying what I have to say here...I feel like Burkha has
become a fatal attraction.  I can't seem to rid myself of him/her. Now he/she is bothering my friends!

Burkha, never mind don't answer that just mind your own business.
I do not believe Avant was addressing his comment to you on my post! Also do me another favor and do NOT email me again!

Burkha....what IS your problem?

posted by RckyMtnActivist on January 12, 2007 at 2:12 PM | link to this | reply

'despite rituals and dogma that have seeped into it'????....
I'm sorry Avant but am I, or you, missing something here? Aren't the 'rituals and dogma' what make up Buddhism?  Could you kindly describe what Buddhism was like BEFORE 'rituals and dogma seeped into it'?
