Ya know. . , you should have reconsidered.
That would have made one hell of a grill-out party.

Heavens NO, I have no place to put it.  One of the soldiers from Carl's unit is in a bad way physically, emotionally and financially.  We are giving the second 1/4 to his family.

Hahaha Bel...I believe it happens in Colorado too.
They have a place up in the mountains that is named "The Road Kill Cafe." Tsk Tsk.  Good to see you and I'm glad to be back.  Hope you and your hubby are doing great.  I'll be backtracking on so many posts so I can catch up with everyone's lives.

I'm glad you explained the situation. I thought maybe you had the makings for some kind of bovine serial killer living next door.

LOL Katray!!!!
We have had a few get loose on occasion around here, luckily I am not required to chase them down the road!

Lol Bel, meaty times eh?
Reminds me of my stepfather who decided to buy some land and raise beef. He didn't invest in very good fencing though and prodded us out of bed, not once but three times in the wee hours of the morning to help him corral a couple of fleeing cows. You ain't lived til you've chased ol' Bessie down a country road barefoot. (I was a smart a** teenager and insisted on lending assistance my way, LOL)

Let's not even go there!  I have referred to to Brian as Carl's whiney, nagging wife for years!  LOL!

bel,
this guy Brian - I think he's killing off his herd 'cause he likes Carl's company  - I'd watch that man, if I were you...

It's not a bad place at all.  It's a farm and farms often have large numbers of livestock.  While I do understand your beliefs are different than we have here in the US, these farmers are not cruel people.  They will not let their animals suffer and it may seem harsh to put them down but to leave them to suffer from that kind of pain would be worse.

LOL Fourcats!
Good one!  We actually found someone who really needs it...so it will go to them.

Actually there is someone who needs the meat very much so it will be given to them.  It should get their family through the winter with no problem!

Oh my what was a dump truck doing around a bunch of cows?  Brian was actually doing something in the field and the cow shouldn't have been where she was but a DUMP TRUCK?  that is odd.

I live ten miles from the real Mayberry. I should take a picture of Andy Griffith's childhood home and post it.

Bel -
I live on the southern end of the Phoenix metro area and am only three miles from a huge dairy farm - where several cattle were recently killed by a dump truck.

Bel, here's a suggestion that may help solve some problems
Have Carl remind Brian "under no circumstances should there be any type of motorized vehicle utilized when in the process of Tipping cows!"lol

I am sure there are families who would love to get this. Like 4 said give it to a food group. Ask the VFW if any of them would like it, they will know who would want it wouldn't they? Strange, poor man lots of loss.

posted by Justi on January 4, 2007 at 10:19 AM | link to this | reply

maybe it's cow suicide - dbt - death by truck. these winter months are

tough!

is there a men or women's shelter, or a salvation army dining hall, something like that that the meat could be donated to?
