it's a good comparison freemanwalking

there, public opinion prevails, and many here in the U.S. decry that situation.

here, when public opinion prevails and one religion prevails as a result, some people express joy.\

I have mentioned in the past, and history tells us, that Moslems have been much more tolerant of other religions than Christians, else we would not have had any Christian or Jewish presence in Jerusalem.

Granted, it was different under individual caliphs, but on the whole, Moslem countries were tolerant of Christians and Jews when Christians weren't tolerant even of their own who might have differed from the norm.

you have to remember that Moslems historically have thought of Jews and Christians as brothers, where Christians have historically thought of Jews in particular as spawn of the devil.

Xeno - your muslim country comparison doesn't hold water b/c there is

probably not much chance of any other religion being represented.  The only place I can conceivably think about that might is around Jerusalum and Bethleham.

As for representing all cultures I don't see why a culture with no Christmas holiday equivalent should be represented.  A Menorah yes. A Christmastree yes.  Who else has anything during this season?  MOst assuredly no one would ever complain about a dragon for the Chinese New Year.  We could put a little black tomb in airports to represent Mohammeds tomb during Rammadan but then the muslims would get up in arms about it.
