TAPS and Saulrelative, I will post about Tom Vilsack, again, but for now

I would like to say that eight years ago when I first met his staffers downtown where I was performing at Art in the Park, at Nolen Plaza, they reminded me of the RFK staffers and Gene McCarthy kids that we saw out of the 60's.  Eight years later, i can say that as governor of Iowa, Vilsack has aquitted himself well, and has not lost any of his integrity.

He doesn't have the looks God gave a goose (of course everyone says that I'm so pretty).  But I liked his actions dealing with a conservative Iowa legislature vis-a-vis the crazy "English Only" Ammendment.

He can't be any worse, can he, SlyCy?

Good idea, TAPS; kingmi is from the heartland. I'm sure he's heard of the
man.  Maybe we can get him to draw us a more detailed picture of the governor.

Not in a million lifetimes, Drew, but thanks for the vote of confidence.
And I like your allusion, btw.

saul_relative, I've never heard of him either.  I must run this past kingmi and see what he thinks of him.  (after reading your links, of course)

It seems like putting the Christmas Tree up in July to me
but I guess it is never too early to get your name out there.  For all the attention that Senators from New York and governors from California get, maybe the smart play is out of the corn fields.  If you announce it, they will vote (bad allusion to Field of Dreams.  Love the Iowa references.)

Speaking of never too early, SaulRelativein12?
