You know what? This is pretty good. Her thoughts as she panicked from the sounds, the visuals of the road, and forest all very good. I like how you give the reader a few nuggets of back ground on each character mentioned. There's quite a few for such a short introductory section which is great. Now you can't just leave it like this. There will be more correct?
