I still kind of keep track of points but lately it hasn't been necessary

That is great! I agree that after a certain amount it becomes habit. I have stopped counting points because I am now used to the amount of food that I am supposed to eat and what kinds. I have also dropped to the next weight bracket...but as I was already eating in the middle of the point range, I do not have to change it yet.
