I'm all for trying to think, talk, write and "be" more positive--
but I am not sure there is any benefit to giving face time to the negative aspects, i.e., thinking of both the positive and negative. Even if you end on a positive, you've still given weight to that negative thought. Of course, if you have the negative thought before you can stop yourself, then I think you darn well ought to try to end with a positive spin! great post!

Well written
I have found this true all my life.

i just recently had to shelve a friendship because

every time i spoke of future possibilities in my life, my friend would come at me with a dumptruck's worth of negativity and i just couldn't bear the weight anymore.  i tried talking to him about it, asked why he couldn't be a friend and just support me, regardless of his opinion and to please respect that i am a 49-year old woman with umpteen experiences to draw on.  his response was to sulk like a five year old and send an email to SOMEONE ELSE! talking about what a desperate person i am, that i hurt his feelings daily and he wants to throw it in my face.  (he also used the letter to tell the other person everything he thought was wrong about her too)  he then sent me a copy of the email just so i'd know what he had written.  both the receiver of the original email and i suffered a case of the "ewies" that he would be sending private posts to both of us and the end result is that he has now lost both friends.
i'm a very sunny person who does not require rose-tinted glasses.  i love accentuating the positive and believe very firmly that's why i am where i am today.

thanks for your upbeat message!
