From what I saw of it yesterday I think it was a good thing. Putin even called his wife to have her be at his side for the hour meeting which turned into 2 hours. While Russia has many issues I do not see her as trying to trump any cards right now. If anything they are doing a very delicate dance. Russia needs the US...Putin knows that. He does like to keep a different profile while on the world stage though...I am from the old school and I believe we should keep our friends close and our enemies closer. By this I mean Russia does support Iran. So being close to Russia is good for the US..God Bless~

If he had given a green light to the Iran bombing campaign promoted by Richard Perle and other conservatives, Bush might not have received a hug at all. A red light signals an improved Moscow-Washington detente.
