Ruth, I can honestly say even forced change in my life has ended up for the
better.  Ha, ha; I think of the chapters of my life once titled; 'boyfriend no. 1', husband no 1, boyfriend no. 2, husband no. 2, (by their names, even to the point of pre....and post era, so & so), lol.  I knew I had evolved spiritually when I started titling my new chapters; before dad passed on, after dad went to be with the Lord, before starting my own business; before my kids left home, while I was studying for my certification, during my 'empty nesting' period, etc., all involving personal spirtual growth; now my earlier days are refered to as 'during the time I was going around and around that same mountain,' or 'my days of wandering through the desert.'  I believe in being still in order to hear from the Lord, but we can be still amidst change.  I know most of our spiritual growth occurs in darkened valleys.  My prayers are with you.

I don't fear change, but sometimes when it's forced, I resent it.

Great quote – I usually fall into the fearful category but when push comes to shove I’m pretty good at rising to the challenge. Then I collapse for a week if only to digest the newness of whatever I’ve just embarked upon.
