I wonder if there is such a thing as an honest mechanic.

There used to be.
Hey if they take you wheels off and mess with the breaks enough times maybe they will accidently fix them. You never know.

Thanks for comin g by, guys. Sorry but I'm exhausted and can't say thanks
individually. I cut my finger at work tonight, and I am about to fall over. I need sleep and a hug. I've not even seen my husband yet. I have much more to say tomorrow after sleep, a shower and a strong cup of tea. In that order. LOL

Schatz, I may be getting a part-time job at Home Depot or something just

like it.  I had a funny encounter last night. I'm almost too tired to type it out, but the short version is that I joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles, or Ladies Auxiliary, because I happened to stumble onto a bake sale in the neighborhood. I stayed for a drink, someone "sponsored" me, and I found myself talking for hours to 4 women who were determined to help me get a job.  They also do local volunteer and service work, since I want to get involved locally, and the dues were $20 for the year, I said, "F* it," and told them my grandfather was a Vet who belonged to the American Legion, cooked for them when I was little and I went to meetings.

Weird, the circle of life. I'm now a member of the fricking Eagles. Strange, but true.

Shatz
This post has so much good in it. I was a business owner for 34 years. It is amazing why we pay so much for junk. It is almost impossible to get any worker with the attitude you have. You will wind up needing to work for yourself in order to get a fair shake. I did get some good breaks for working like you when I was in college and some after. People do notice the workers, keep it up. It is great. I do hope you can get out of the city.

Good point. There are a lot of ways in which kids are just following the example of the adults.
