Go to Americans Under the Influence of ColorAdd a commentGo to CONSERVATIVE BLOGGERS ARE LISTENING, FINALLY...............................

Well I only have one problem with what your saying King. Of those millions the key word is illegal. If I break the law I have to pay, you do to. Now if they go home and enter in legally and pay taxes I don't have a problem with any ethnic peoples coming. However if they are going to allow the now illegal to stay if they pay 3 years back taxes out of 7 then I want 4 years of my taxes back. I am glad we are building a wall and I also advocate arming that wall with immigration officers who can fire a weapon when need be. I am so sick of the drug flowing from the southern border I worry about my g/children...

professor peabody, we want immigrants here to have a life as Americans.  thinking that amnesty denigrates those who came here legally, in the face of twelve million plus human chattle waiting for some kind of sustennance, is the kind of conservative moral majority bull shat that lost the government to the loonies!  Let's be reasonable here.

Kingmi
I so agree with you. It is not the usual Latino I fear.... I don't like the Crystal Myth traffic, and that is not from them it is the drug cartels. It is the terrorist who will come over that worries me. This is an excellent post. I see you received a comment the size of an average library you will be informed when you read all that. Be blessed.

"Comprehensive" reform?

Allowing amnesty for those who came here illegally denigrates those who fought & struggled to get here legally.  We need a guest worker program, with defined limits on their stay.

Having said that, I'll say this:  We need to quit blaming illegal workers for everything from ruining Social Security to global warming.  The $8 Billion they contribute to Social Security (with no hope of every collecting) is helping to keep that system afloat.  The Rand Corporation (hardly a left-wing group) determined that illegals contribute more than they take out;  it's just that the areas where they take it out are so concentrated (usually California, New Mexico, Texas & Arizona) whereas the benefits of cheaper produce, i.e., are spreadyamongst the other states.

When I was the IRS (please don't hate me) I saw row after row of file boxes of "compromised" tax returns where several people (sometimes hundreds) were working under the same SSN.  All these FICA taxes were being paid to the actual SSN holder's account.  All it takes is for an employer to call a toll-free number or go online to verify the identity.   But employers don't WANT to do this;  they know they'll work for less, cause less trouble, and frankly, work harder.  When some with brown skin & a thick South American accent presents a Social Security card with the name "Al Franken" and his SSN, it doesn't take a rocket scientist t figure it out.

Businesses like illegals; even if they don't hire them, it depresses other workers' wages.  And no, they are not doing the jobs Americans won't do; that is a myth.  Many are in the construction trades, good entry-level jobs for non-college bound young men & women.  They'll just do them for a lot less.

Go after the head; the business owner who's hiring them.  If you make the fines as severe as you do for Janet Jackson baring a nipple, immigration will slow to a trickle.

Simple solution?

Very rarely are there simple solutions to complex problems.  But I think I have one.

There is almost always one reason why illegal immigrants come to this country:  they want to work & make money, usually to send back home, so that their family can have a better life.  Oh, there are some who come to get benefits & commit crimes, but they are by far the minority.

My solution?  Do like they do in the so-called "drug war".  Go after the big distributors, the "King Pins".  Fine and arrest the companies hiring them!!!  When the cost of hiring undocumented laborers is more than the savings they recognize by hiring them, it will stop.  Hold somebody accountable for their hiring, whether it's the owner, manager or the blue-hair in Personnel.  When a few CEO's are perp-walked out of corporate headquarters, it'll stop.  When Wal-Mart, the most successful company in America, is caught using illegals on its janitorial staff, we have to say "Enough is enough!

Secondly, put a ban on international money transfers.  The bank has to report it when I withdraw or deposit $10K or more;  so why can anybody buy a money order at a check-cashing place and mail it to El Salvador?  The bank therer has to have an agreement with Western Union or 7-Eleven to transfer funds.  Let's stop those transfers.  It's too risky for them to sneak BACK across the border to drop off the rent money!
