Here,here to that!
Democrats should hold the celebration.  If they abuse their majority in vengeance, they will be buried in 2008!  I think John McCain, despite his age, has the inside track anyway!  Hillary Clinton has too much baggage and her husband, while President, spent more time thinking about his own personal sexual needs than he did about the country!  Watch Bush and the conservative coalition of blue dogs and moderates cancel out what the leftists perceive as a victory.  He may get more done in the next two years than he did in the previous six!  So it goes....

For many there must be a thrill of emergence in the air down there (I'm Canadian).  I hope the optimism lives beyond yesterday's results.

Blance, is it the calm after the storm or the eye of the hurricane before
the back part comes ashore -- I don't know, but we will have to pray hard for the former and not the latter.

MountainClimber, very well said
As exuberant as I felt last night over the change in leadership.  What I am feeling now is more a calm hope that the rifts of the past can be healed and the country move forward.  Have a great day!

Dallas you are right -- it is a new day, how bright of a new day -

We will at last get to see what the plans for change will really be......meanwhile, we need a thorough housecleaning....then work on remembering how we got where we did in the beginning......I keep thinking of "Animal Farm"  and how the Piggies evolved into what the were fighting before they took over the farm......

Taps, whether you are Democrat or Republican, it is a most sobering
moment in history -- hopefully for the better and not the worst!
