Poet, I know it's a struggle being a hardgainer
A struggle that a lot of people don't understand.

If only it were that easy.
But I shouldn't be complaining.  I only weighed 126 when I graduated from high school and three years later when I joined the army.  Gaining weight, and keeping it, has always been slow, hard work for me.

The reverse -- gaining weight -- is my goal.
At a tad over six feet, my normal weight of about 145 is a bit shy of the ideal.  I think I'll go back to an old plan I used to gain weight and improve muscle tone.  It's very similar to isometrics without any equipment.  That fits my current budget.

I'm still going to be trying to get stronger and hopefully more muscle
but I won't be worried about getting more than enough food

Just remember
The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism and the more calories you burn.
