Sannhet, interesting to come back to our discussion here, passion, illusion
and integrity, the endless dance of Maya, the spinning woman, obscures the mind, and it is a constant struggle to bring it back into balance.  Thank you for your wise counsel.

Thanks. And the cool thing is, you don't have to be dying to give.

It's extraordinary to live as if you were dying. Giving melts away the fear, and hastens the feeling of peace. Nice work you're doing with this, by the way.

Sannhet,

Sannhet, well, I figured that I'd give myself the artistic license to put

it in fiction. The funny thing is that I've noticed that often bloggers will often not notice that a piece is piece is fiction and assume that it's biographical and ask the writer questions as if it were, much to the chagrin of the writer.

But I put in a disclaimer, that there is truth in fiction and fiction in truth anyway.  It's a flexible concept.

I see your point. I started to go down the autobiographical path, but decided to write a semi-autobiographical piece because I didn't want to have to be as concerned with every single fact, but could still help others learn. That and the fact that I haven't really had any discussions with Death - at least in this reality.

My problem is that it's heavily auto-biographical, so how much I want to
play with fact and fiction, I'm not sure, which details are pertinent and which are not, etc.

I was that way too, at first. Then I let the characters take over and they really drove where the story went. I started this back in March, and it was only recently that I had any inclination of how it would end. And I'm still not 100% sure.

You've been more disciplined and prolific than I have in your writing,
Sannhet.  I have no idea where I am going with my story, Possession next.  Today is probably not the best day to focus on it, though, it will come with time, but I can't let it sit forever.  Balance, why is that so hard for me?

I've actually got the next four installements completed. I've been working on what may be the last, or next to last, installment right now. The reason I slowed down on posting and commenting was to get this book complete. Since I'm near completion, I have more time to comment, and will probably start posting regularly again.

With regard to your question, for me it is all about keeping the integrity of the characters in tact. Sometimes this requires that I reign in my passion; sometimes this means that I build with illusion. I've found though, that once I am in "character", the right choice tends to be made because of where that character is. I hope this answers your question. . .

Sannhet, are you mulling on the next installment?
I liked your questions on my fiction blog, they do make me think, if nothing else, not to get pulled into the game of passions and illusions, but still keep some integrity.  A delicate balance, I think. What do you think?

REAL OR STORY, INTERESTING

Frustrating but so exhilarating when it comes together, Sannhet, I'm there

now, trying to work out the end of the story I just posted.  I'm letting it mull a little.  But, yeah, as long as it's plausible and true to the storyline and the character, then it's all fair game.

(Boner, may he rest in peace, lol)

It is frustrating. But also it's so exciting because really, I can go any direction I want, as long as I'm true to the storyline and the characters.

And Boner was a hoot. He died a few years ago, but was true to his name until the end.

It is frustrating but compelling to have to work that last bit out, isn't

it, Sannhet.  I like the details you put in like Death's fondness for Krispy Kreme's and Brigitte Bardot, because after all, a timeless being like Death, isn't limited by the trends of our time.  Eternity must give a whole different perspective on things.

That, and Boner, the dog.

Yeah, it's really getting fun now, even though I am nearing the end of this book. I'm thinking there are only a couple of chapters left. But there have been some things that have popped up along the way that may require me to write another. As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit.

Sannhetseeker, at last! Death has the penultimate laugh, and Lanny is

at least smiling, too.  I saw a video of a dog last night on America's Funniest Videos that could fit Boner's description, the dog was a gigantic Burmese Mountain dog or something that size, and it was part of a Conga line with a bunch of kids.  I don't think the kid in front of the dog realized that the dog wasn't just grooving to the beat (or maybe he was!).

Anyway, all kidding aside, Lanny is off on the biggest adventure of his life.  That will answer the question of "why would I jump out of a perfectly good plane", lol.  I'm awaiting more.
