The ones that get me are the people who want their already "dated" house to look even more "dated" by adding antiques. Makes no sense.....in 25 years someone will walk into that house and think no one cared enough to even bring it up to the 80's...

I like your ideas. Even if they are a little dated, who cares?
I tend to be a little 'old fashioned' in my ideas. It's what makes me, well, me. And you can't buy one of me at Target. You'll find me on the shelf of some out of the way, eclectic little store. LOL. They broke the mold, as the saying goes.

Sometimes I think it's good to be dated, Why must we change for the heck of
it? If we have too much money to spend, then at least spend on equalising other people with you by financing 'dated' kitchens for them. What say,Justi?

Justi, I hope no one is waiting on me to decide to update. I like things the way they are. On the other hand, those people who are inclined to updating are keeping Son #3 in the pink so I guess its all relative.

It's all part of a marketing plan
"planned obsolescence" to keep us buy-buy-buying so someone can keep sell-sell-selling. Impulse buying begins when you see the thing on TV -- electronics, meds, cars, new shoes, etc. Today's newest convenient gadgets: tomorrow's yard sale item.

I agree with what Blanche said...
we are greedy and always want the most modern thing and have the best of everything, it does make you feel good but only for a while and then the feeling wears off. I think some people just has too much money and do not know what to do with it. I would love to redo my kitchen... it is "dated"! LOL

I think we are a spoiled culture, Justi, and get bored quickly.
Not to mention that I've heard today that new Lexuses come with a feature now that will parallel park for the driver. I just shook my head. People get bored and want the lates fashion, which is no better than the old, or they want what their neighbors or sister or mother have. We are so spoiled.
