Oh yeah
Forgot to respond here.  It takes a little adjustment.  There is still the occasional time when my foot slips and I feel like I'm going to lose it and go flying.  But most of the time, it now feels like any other elliptical and I'm pretty much in control.  I like it because it allows me to stretch my hips more than a regular elliptical.

I tried one in a fitness store and it just didn't do anything for me

I might get used to it or enjoy it but the first try was not enjoyable.  Plus my hair is way too short.

When I got off the dang thing, I felt like I was stepping onto a boat.  Everything was rocking.  Do you ever get over that?  Or do you take dramamine?

I'm full of suggestions today
I know they look dorky on those infomercials, but I have a Tony Little Gazelle and I work up a sweat on it every day.  It's small, lightweight, and cheap compared to a treadmill.   Also easier on your joints.

Dave, I certainly could. I wouldn't but I could.
I've never tried beer before and I don't think that I ever will.

SW, with a treadmill you could exercise AND drink beer!
