In both situations...

The child is dependent on an older adult, and let's not forget that adolescence is a stage in child development. Teachers and parents alike are in positions of authority over children, and they must be careful about never acting out toward their young charges. I'm even skeptical of sexual relationships between college professors and their students, due to the power differential, despite the fact that college students are legally old enough to consent to sexual activity. Teachers of students at all stages of life development have enormous power over their students, and must use that power responsibly, for the purpose for which it was intended. Of course, it's natural that children would have feelings for their abusers, because they're dependent upon their abusers in the case of teachers (on whom they depend for information) and parents (who are entrusted with the total caretaking of children they bear or adopt). Victims have to learn to cope with the undeniable fact of their abuse at the hands of authority figures.

absolutely
but just like child sex abuse by a parent - there is some love there for the abuser.  often times the child might even enjoy this atrocity.  sickens me to death
