My daughter used to live near Nashville
and the scenery along the way was beautiful. Nashville ws anything but what I expected after watching Grand Ol Opry all those years.  I expected country folk and two-lane roads with woods and an occasional farmhouse. What I got was a teeming, pile-driving rush of city life and freeways where the drivers slow down to 75 for the exits. :)

Down on our family farm, in lower state SC,
we used to find a lot of arrowheads and such in plowed fields during the summer. The land is near the Edisto river, and I think we probably had a tribal garbage dump, or something, buried amongst the soybeans, because we found all kind of stuff.

Alas, it's all in pine trees now, although I did find a random pottery shard awhile back. But I don't know - it could have been a coffee cup myu grandfather broke in the 40s.

Freemanwalking, I love walking in hstorical sites and soaking it in.

The Ancestor I'm most proud of is Francis Marion, The Swamp Fox.  If I ever inherited anything of his rebel genius, I'd be very happy.   The maples, beeches and alders are slowly turning here, the air is full of saltwater breezes, and I can see Bremerton, your old station, out my window.

God willing, we may be moving into a house, with a yard, and I'll happily trade my view of the water, and my insensitive neighbors for a little more space and a cat and a dog.  Happy Trails!
