Health issues suck eh Azur...
..I find them more maddening than anything! I know what you mean about wanting to get back to it all in a big way!

it's a big decision I believe and tough when each of us have good reasons for wanting our careers to move forward. Mine has been interrupted by health issues a lot these past few years and I feel the need to enjoy my work.

mneme, sometimes I think it might be best if my partner
and I put a continent between us. Indeed metaphorically it may already be that way.

Julia, thanks, it is not easy when there are several sets of needs
to consider - individual and collective

Does this mean that you have to choose either his job or yours, Azur,
but not both?

azur--
being offered both would certainly require some careful consideration for how to resolve the dilemma, but I'm sure you will figure it out.Of course, being single I don't have to make these kinds of decisions, which is nice on the one hand and not so nice on many other hands... ;-)

I think you could make it work if you both wanted it to, and I know of one couple where the wife is in the US and the husband in the UK. It can be done, although it's not easy. I wish you well in your decision-making.
