Teddypoet, I am experiencing what every middle-aged person should. And I

feel lucky.  At last, I'm that what I am doing is right.  The rest of the teachers have had to find their own path, but the universe is beginning to tilt some towards my method.  And, the bad news is, there are but few years to go before I retire!

I merely have to consider the alternative.  I could go down in mediocrity, or worse, failure.

Well-handled, good kingmi...
In an imperfect world, indifference nurtured becomes a catalyst of genius...

Blanche, it is funny to me how trends come and go.
People who are "in" today, making friends in the office at the expense of their soul, tomorrow are "out" as the pendulum swings. I'm like you. I make decisions based on what I perceive to be the difference between right and wrong.

Not as much turbulance that way.

KIngmi, there's no substitute for common sense and critical thinking

I don't care who teaches it, Jack Frost, Santa Claus, or whomever, I have long had a problem with the educational system that pushes feel-good, nobody get offended PC curriculum. (See, I'm not the horrific Liberal you thought I was, am I?)

I can argue and debate, but I have respect for alternative viewpoints, and what the schools never seem to teach is how to argue without getting into a fight.
