Very good observation, Blanche.
Such intimacy and closeness happens when two or more people break bread together.

My pleasure, JanesOpinion, you're right, good food and drink can ease
a lot of tensions.  I guess that's why "breaking bread together" is a sign of intimacy.  I know it seems that way to me.

You have a great week too!

Banana bread sounds good!

Blanche, you know, I frankly think life could be so much easier --

even for these great politicians -- if they would sit down and share a cup of tea together (or a mug of steaming hot coffee) and talk (dammit!).

Thanks, as always, for your visit.  I do enjoy connecting with you.

If only solving the world's ills were so simple, Janes, I would be all in

favor of a detente over banana bread. A little less saber-rattling and posturing, and a little more civility, I think, would go a long way.

Your instrospective day sounds restful and restorative, those are the best kind. Thanks for sharing.

TAPS, I like that idea!
Perhaps we should invite Kim Jong Ill, Putin and China's leader too?  Perhaps they could reach a peace agreement over banana bread and tea!!!

babe_rocks, turns out I could only use 2 nanners instead of 3 --

The third was so ripe I was certain it was too far gone.   But with only two it turned out really good.

I often buy too many bananas just so I can make banana bread on a regular basis.  But of course I'm sure it's deleterious to my waist line . . . .

JanesOpinion, I think you should pass out the banana bread and cups of tea or coffee as we sit around your table and talk of N.Korea and nukes.

Nothing better on a cool, breezy fall day than the smell of banana bread baking and warming up the kitchen....  Wish my bananas were ripe rather than on the green side.
