Too bad the Brothers Grimm aren't around to immortalize it and turn
it into some cautionary tale, TAPS.

What a horrible post, saul_relative.   Actually its the situation, the people and what happened to the little ones that is horrible.  I don't mean to kill the messenger.  But it sure makes for unbelieveable reading (though I know its true) and is the stuff that nightmares are made of.

I like the way you think. Let's team up and write the next season of
"Survivor".

See...
creativity comes in ALL forms!  Canned food...but where are the can openers...bombs away!

Oh, wow, I liiiike the canned food drop. You could turn it into an online
game where people pay to be the bombardier!

But what if it were canned food
dropped off but no can-openers? On the serious side, that would be a method I would be comfortable with, no matter how crazy or sane anyone deserving to be left there has been determined to be.

I'm all for the deserted island scenario, Moxie, sans food drops.

Saul_Relative,

my initial reaction is in agreement with yours, but I have such a struggle with that one. I'm not 'God', and don't want the job, and at the same time I can't help but want vengeance for their acts on innocent children...that they even brought into the world! Then I ask myself, how can 'God' allow creatures like that to have children, especially if he, 'God' knows what they are going to do? Disgusting.

I say drop them by parachute on a far away island and let them fend for themselves for however long they can, with meager means of supplies dropped off in the same fashion every so often.

Moxie: I'm pro-choice on this is well. Your choices are: firing squad,
lethal injection, hanging, or electrocution.

Sometimes "justice" is not a legal subject, ladychardonnay.

And so we, the tax payers, are paying for their

recovery, their friendhip/bonding, their rehabilitation, and therapy for their psychological trauma. Enchanting. If it hasn't already been done, I would suggest tying of the tubes to be part of the rehabilitation and therapy, since perhaps they will re-enter society some day.

We have baby-killing mothers on one hand, and grief-stricken mothers losing their babies to acts of outside violence on the other. I know where I want my tax dollars spent, and I wish I had a choice.

i'm right there with you
if anyone ever laid a hand on one of my children they will die by own hands - it;s nice to have old biker friends that know bad people.  i will not wait for the "justice" system.

Maybe so, ladychardonnay. One thing is certain, it would sure save the
taxpayers money.  Callous?  Maybe, but I'm not in the caring department when it comes to child killers, momentarily nuts or not.

but there is nothing to learn
andrea yates's husband kept knocking her up knowing that she suffered from depression - people just don't pick up on the right signals.  now i think he is married with a few new babies as if nothing happened.  they have it too good in prison and can play the "i'm crazy" card anytime they want to.  i have 3 kids - i have been mad enough to beat the shit out of them may times - but i also have that little something called SELF-CONTROL.  i don't buy this bullshit for a minute.  string them all up i say.  it will teach somebody a lesson.

Well, kingmi, that sniper incident was decades ago. I wouldn't worry as
much about the colleges and universities (Montreal notwithstanding).  It seems to be a social dysfunction at the primary and secondary school levels.  Besides, Yates and Schlosser only murder young children.

You know, ladychardonnay, it wouldn't bother me half as bad if I knew they

were learning something from studying these people.  But they're not.  Nowhere have I heard of a clinical study into the psychological make-up of these nutcases, although I am sure some types of studies have been done.  And Susan Smith wasn't even delusional.  Hers was a premeditated act.  And I have my doubts about Yates and Schlosser, especially Schlosser; she has a degree in psychology.

All that aside, ladychardonnay, I have nothing against using my tax money to buy a few bullets for a firing squad.

the cure in is a firing squad
there is no rehabilitation for such murderers - and why are my taxes paying these people to live better than i do?  why don't we send in susan smith and we can have the three stooges in the same cell?  makes my stomach turn.  why is charles manson still alive?  so we can study him and his behavior?  no big mystery there.
