So true. And, they keep us silent in the midst of turmoil.

Yea, I would say that the world is sustained on denial and dependency, which is the antithesis of truth.

You are correct in pointing out that interdependency is an intricate part of physicality. However, having said that, it must also be pointed out that psychological dependency is a result of the belief that we lack certain inherent things; and, through having them our needs are met and a permanent state is achieved.

Can an individual meet his physical needs while realizing that no one or nothing can provide his peace of mind and happiness? Can he absolve others from their responsibility for him, while at the same time showing gratitude for what is given? Surely, there is a gift beyond measure when one realizes that he alone is responsible for the choices that are made, and the consequences that flow from them.

Coming to you in the middle of brain fog, but your blog reminded me of the "doc's" who used to blog here until recently.  I'm also reminded of that song that goes, "Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble (when you're perfect in every way.)"  [The song] Not stated quite so esoterically, but that's the way with truths.  They keep us humble. And that is becoming a rarity these days.

I very often think that many, many of the worlds problems, both great and small, would not exist if we all had to always speak the truth. So many evil things are tied up with deception! I know that this is totaly unrealistic, but it bears thinking about. We all know how easy it can be to tell a lie when the truth might be much less palatable, but then maybe better to say nothing at all. Surely it sometimes depends upon the situation? Introspection is never easy.

in your last reply you say that depending on others is what creates confusion and suffering. i know of no one who is independant as able to live off land, and even then there is dependance on air, water, food. this world is now as a people totally dependant, with money it can work no other way.  spiritual truths can remove yourself but everyone steps back into the world. it seems with so much of this, knowing or understanding the problem never changes what is.

Exactly. Not everyone is ready for the truth. Who wants to hear that depending on others creates the confusion and suffering in life?

You are right again. Explaining an observation produces clarity. It is up to the individual to choose to look.

Yes, being 'wrong' is invaluable to discovering the end. If we felt right about everything, would we not spend all our time vaunting ourselves instead of listening?

Telling the truth is foundational in every spiritual tradition; it is one of however many pillars: non-violence, love, peace, truth.....others......and these traditions teach that it is synonomous with love, synonomous with God......yet, we find that it takes the utmost courage to be truthful.....so strange, so strange. Great post Avant. MoonSpirit

Being wrong is the measure of a means that creates its own end.

if i understand this right then being wrong can be a drive or steppingstone to see the end.  i can think of situations where explaining truth, not as you have, can dismantle all uncertainty and doubt.even if it is the same truth i believe it can work other ways.

Avant-Garde,
My self-acceptance depends on working out for myself where the truth lies, in the hidden depths of the inner spirit.  Strip away the need for acceptance from others, what is anyone left with?

Unusual topic only because it's easier to shy away.I wanted to say "hide" &

thought I may lose a few freinds.....MYSTERIA said they have to shut up at work because her lady boss knows everything, yes EVERYTHING! She even completes their thoughts, problems, solutions, dreams......so workers keep their---paycheck & facts, opinions...until they come home to Blogit. Here's to that--BANZAI!  (even geckos may celebrate with us)

A-G--- I agree if "being wrong" really isn't about wrong or right, but
about being true to one's own truths.

It is better when we know that
self acceptance has nothing to do with what others think of us. I think it is better to acknowledge there are differences rather than to giving energy to making everything work with everyone or trying to deny there are differences.

Avant - the internet is messing with me today.  This is my 4th attempt to post a comment.  One must love oneself first before capable of loving another being. Trust is always imperative and understood when one has truly given their heart to another.
