Exciting possibilities
Money is important, but rewards of growth, creative license and fulfillment outweigh material benefits, imo. Great to hear your health is not a worry. Best wishes Azur.

Azur, It will be very interesting to see what you select, who selects you, and what you end up with.

after reading both posts
it sounds like you're in for a tough decision - one that you may need to make with your family, personally if money, fame and fortune wasn't an issue - I'd go with the one that offered the best lifestyle choice...

Apply for both and see what is really offered. Take the best for long term security. You'll have to continue your own writing on the sideline. Good luck.

As you said.. the best thing is your health is back
so whatever you decide will be right.  It's nice to have options.

The magazine job sounds best to me. I sense more excitement in you for that

one and whilst it takes you away from close family, it gives you more time for the immediate family who will come with you. As I said below, a happy mum is every son's wish. And a happy wife every husband's wish. You would also have the chance of significant professional growth as you stamp your own signature onto the magazine.

We're watching this space...

Azur
Personally, I think change is good. It keeps us growing and reaching new vistas. There is a time for remaining within oneself, and a time for reaching forward. I am happy that you have been given this opportunity.

location is a big deal for me...

Both opportunities sound good, but very different.  I would probably take the more local one, if it suited my needs, only because I have no intentions of moving from my family.   Even if your days are long, you'd be home on the weekends and local for holidays.

Plus, maybe it's just my impression of you, but you seem like a natural teacher.

You know how it is... it will all come down to priorites and which just feels right.  Maybe you'd rather move and start fresh.  Maybe not.  Then again... maybe the decision will be made for you.  Good luck!

which would solve the dilemma

Ariala
there is appeal in both - the first one involves moving us all far from immediate family - ie taking children away from their grandmother and aunts and uncles (although there is one great aunt and uncle at that place) - the second would take a lot of my time and energy and take me out of the center of family life.
Perhaps I'll end up missing out on both.

I personally like the first one better, but then again, I don't teach. Also
it seems crazy to move away from your family, though I do know people do that.  I feel the stress of the work, along with the distance from family, would not be good for anyone.  I still think that first job sounds more exciting and your cup of tea.  Perhaps a third offer is on the way? LOL
