the hastle is worth it
I find it interesting that in India, they disregarded the creame and liquid threat. It makes me wonder if it was a big marketting hype. The sales for all those products tossed in trash cans must have gone up!

Greenfields, I loved flying way back when you could take a taxi to the airport, run in and buy a ticket and run with your suitcase out across the tarmac and mount the stairs into the plane carrying your bag with you.  And then you could wave, as you took off, to those who escorted you to the airport because you could see them standing at the edge of the tarmac.  It has become, not only no fun, but also a dreaded thing to just fly to CA or FL or AZ or MD in order to see loved ones.   So, I often just opt for internet and sending pics or emails.

I am glad your travels ended safely but I would much rather deal with the annoyances of security than not have them take the precautions to keep us safe.
