You know 42 years is a testamony unto itself. God bless you both.

Maggie Mae thank you so very much. That is so sweet.
It was a beautiful little simple ceremony, really touching.

Justi, we've been married almost 42 years.  I think it's about as right as it's going to get. hahaha

I wish your daughter and her husband a long, happy life together.  God bless them, and God bless you, dear lady and George.

I agree. But it is sad to see that they don't get healed when they are in such a state. Yes divorce is not only the only way sometimes but the choice way when it hurts children even more than being away from a parent.

There are much worse things than divorce...

I've seen many families that would have been much better off if they'd gone their separate ways instead of forcing their children to watch constant bickering, fighting, cursing and violence.

Divorce is much preferred to raising children in this hell.

Jane I so agree.
My husband and I were caterers for some time many years ago and I have seen weddings so elaborate that both the bride and groom were simply exhausted from all the activities and parents were financially exhausted. It was more about "look see us" than about the merging of two people. Of course whatever anyone wants but the stress level can be so great the couple go into the marriage burned out.

I understand I am not a morning person either. But the idea is that you need to be able to communicate and miss one another with you are away from them with a concept of being best friends. Thank you for your wonderful comment. Be blessed.

Justi, congratulations!!!
I hope the wedding goes well.  I would prefer a simple, classy wedding over any excessively expensive deal.  I'm sure you all will have a wonderful time!

I'm so grateful for my husband. I hope your daughter and her new husband are as happy as we are, and then some. Your observations about starting the day together were right on, I think. It's so great to know that when he leaves for work it's with a smile in his heart that I put there with kindness. I'm not a morning person so sometimes it's hard. :)
