They can't walk him.  They've made too much money off of him.  No time to be high and mighty now.  If he gets close to the record, he pulls in fans, even if it's just to boo him.  Or to get rich off of homer number 756(which I hope he never hits, not because he's Barry Bonds, but because I like Hank Aaron.  But records are made to be broken). And everyone in baseball makes money.  That's the name of the game.  Not winning or losing.  Money.

Hey, I like that idea, blackcat. It would be a powerful statement. And
justice served.  I have also stated that, instead of an asterisk, they place a small hypodermic symbol beside his name (even if he doesn't break the all-time record).

nobody cares because there will be a big asterisk next to his name.

It's all meaningless.  I don't know one person who's actually rooting for him.   Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

My proposal, when he was about to break Ruth, was to have every pitcher intentionally walk him until he quit the game.  That would have been a powerful statement.  Oh well.

Maybe so, growler. But between you and me (and the rest of the world), I
most sincerely hope not.

Nobody cares, because he hasn't gone on a home run tear.  But if he does, interest will pick up.  Watch.
