As a boss, I always check references. It is a good sign.

A very good sign
At the place where I work, we never call for references unless we are planning to hire somone. If we have two people we like for the role, we make the decision on which one to hire, then do the references for just one.
This sounds great Jemms !! Did they say when they were going to let you know?
Fingers, eyes, toes, arms....everything is crossed !

I hope you get the job!
I agree - this sounds like a good sign to me. Another good sign is when they start asking to speak to your former or current co-workers. It means they're sufficiently interested in you to see just what kind of job you do, and they can only find out that information through checking references and asking former or current colleagues.

Keep your hopes up. Calling on your refrences is indeed a good sign. To me, it means that you are being considered for the position. I have a saying that may (or may not) help........"expect the worse but prepare for the best"
