Family is more than blood or marriage
when you're grown and on your own, family is a kindred soul, someone who gets you and gives back. A shell of legalities and formal ceremonies can surround a family that is broken and torn inside. Oh, and a feminist isn't necessarily against men -- just wants to be paid fairly, have equal opportunities, and a partnership rather than a dom/sub arrangement.

I understand your feelings. But I am a feminist myself and that means
nothing in terms of not respecting family. There has to be democracy at all levels no doubt. And it somewhere has to begin with the smallest unit of governance which is the family. I guess there is a long way to go in gender sensitising men.
In any case, I think that women given the global financial situation would have been pushed into the job market anyways. Just my two pence.
And feminists aren't the brutal man-hating persons that everybody perceives them to be, In any area there are exceptions. And so maybe the case here as well

Yes, it's becoming more and more evident these days.
Somehow women gaining rights seems to have given men the right to be even bigger idiots at times.

This is a very good post. It is hard to read because it has such long sentences. The post is excellent. I read your 'about me post' you have been a busy woman.
