- Go to I Stare at the Beauty of the Desert, and Wonder if it is Real
I have been down through Moab before, and toured around Four Corners,
New Mexico and parts of Arizona, but never to the Grand Canyon, Bryce or Zion. I'm really looking forward to it! (Someone else is paying for the gas-- I do all the driving and it's my car taking the beating.)

Oh man, what a great trip! Have you been through these areas before? If not, you will love it. If you did, you will love it again. I just did a motorcycle ride last October from the Grand Canyon, through Zion and Cedar Point, down through St. George, Las Vegas and back to Phoenix. It's one of my favorite rides. Enjoy, and you will need a multiple memory cards!

The plan so far is to head south through Moab, Utah,
swing southeast to Mesa Verde, then west through Monument Valley to the Grand Canyon, northwards to Zion, Bryce and Cedar Breaks... I'm gonna need a bigger memory card!

Absolutely some illusions are just to be enjoyed. As long as we know they are illusions. What part of the Southwest desert are you heading too?

I agree, my friend. Without questioning, everything remains real. Questioning, and then negating, changes reality. Thanks for the visit!

I would love to see some other deserts (Gobi, Sahara, Kalahari, etc.). For me they truly are a rare and different kind of beauty. Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Everything we see is an illusion. Not an illusion as in a sleight of hand, but as an erroneous perception of reality. Part of our challenge in returning to "God" is to learn to see beyond the illusion (some call it maya) that keeps us from truly touching the divine and learning what is real.

Thanks! I am constantly amazed at the beauty that I see, even in the most barren parts of the state.

I think what is real comes when its nature is questioned. Ironically, it must be doubted and negated first.
