Thanks!

My heart goes out to the the survivors and victims of Hurricane Katrina

I watched a special on Oprah about that. It was nice to see her provide people new homes.

I was really dissapointed and saddened by the efforts of FEMA.

It sure takes a lot of determination and persistence to do this, isn't it?

Wow! I'd love to make this kind of a difference in someone's life.

My heart was rent into like yours after hurricane katrina...I saw countless thousands who had normal, happy lives, lovely homes full of furnishings, autos, everything -

In one night's time, they lost everything...a lifetime of 'stuff'. It broke my heart. I"m not so selfish anymore.

I enjoyed your story so much and I know this family will never forget you.

Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, I had some people snub their nose at me on this one because they thought that I should help people in the US.....in reality, those judgemental fools had no idea what I do with my time, life or money.

You did good
I agree that these are the kinds of stories that happen to many people - it could be anyone, any of us.  Occasionally we get a micro-glimpse on the news but most of it we never see. For every one we see there are millions more we don't.  You could see something in this girl, humanity. In times of trouble people often forget humanity

Bel

It is hard to communicate with her, she barely speaks any English....but she will send me hotmail messages with broken English that she loves me and misses me.

It was cool to fly back there as a total civilian,  like I was on vacation or something.......I mean, not many people travel for vacation there if you know what I mean.

But I truly love Kosovo and the people there. I have some awesome pictures, but I have to dig them up.

Thanks for reading!

We all have that "one" that changes our lives so profoundly that we are never again the same.  She was sent to you, I believe that.  Do you stay in touch with her?
