We have to do something

before it is too late.  I try, with letters, e-mails and phone calls to my representatives in Congress.  Nice for me, they are all in agreement with me.

This administration is disaster at every turn.   Take your pick, from the horrible war, to the energy mess, ignoring global warming, the way drug companies are benefitting hugely from Medicare part D, the hits and threats to our natural resources, the economy, and the deep down sickness many of us feel when we read the national news every day.

A professor at the University of Wisconsin has been chastized, ridiculed, received hate mail and a request for firing, all because he said that some people believe there was a conspiracy from this administration that created or fueled 9/11.  I have those thoughts myself (about 9/11).   But now, a powerful newspaper is using ridicule and shame to silence this person's freedom to speak and to teach.  The mess goes so deep.

We stand up; we make demands, FactorFiction
We make our demands as vocal as possible; we refuse to vote for candidates from either the Democratic or Republican party.  We cast our votes for third party candidates exclusively.  When we gather up the courage to do this, then we will have begun to take back our country.

I think there are very large numbers of people who
don't know enough about how the government is run now. I learned about it in school eons ago, yet I doubt it is accurate anymore... we also don't know how we can fix it.

Scary Thought, FactorFiction
And I am left to wonder why the President and the Congress are not swamped with letters, phone calls and e-mails demanding a return of our liberties.  In my "Veterans" blog, I capture a quote by Senator George Allen saying that we should not dissent.  That is so unbelievable.

I have been reading about some of the things he has been doing
while on vacation. He is getting away with soooo much. Who will stop it? At this rate he will probably extend his presidency for the good of the US. It is very scary.
