There isn't much I could say that was "good" about Ken Lay, Blanche.
Consider the cold calculations to willfully destroy a company you built simply for profit, without any due consideration for the millions of employees, stockholders, affilitates, and customers he would be hurting in the process.  That's one cold sonofabitch.

Saul, although my boyfriend was singing "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead"

when he heard the news about Ken Lay, I'm more subdued.  After all, the damage is done: Enron is still suing its subsidiary energy companies for reneging on THEIR contracts, when they should have long since had their assets seized and the corporation dismembered, piece by tiny piece.

The people of California who are paying the piper for the gigantic raises in energy costs, and the little old grandmothers whose energy stocks in their portfolios their stock managers told them would pay for their retirement and nursing homes, those I'm not so sure will rejoice. It's too little too late.  But, it does seem to me, a little serendipitous the timing.  Not only the good die middle-aged.
