Actually, archiew, my church does just that.
It's sort of a mega church -- about 5,000 members give or take a few --
and they have multiple outreach programs going in their area.
Their goal is to "reach Holland (MI) and beyond . . ." and they have
multiple practical methods of doing so. Recently, the church and
over 1000 members went out, spent a Saturday volunteering throughout
the community. They hope to do this once a year, but also hope to
have the many small groups reaching out on a regular basis throughout
the year. I'm excited about their plans!
