tall and skinny, I had not even heard anyone suggest as you do that we
Influenced the Iraq elections. The courage of those voters walking down streets where bombs were going off, to me speaks volumes as to what.they wanted.

Nice Mix of News and Opinion

First of all, I appreciate your to-the-point writing style.  Secondly, I'm not a fan of Mr. Bush but I think his good deeds need to be pointed out as a way to encourage positive events in the future.  If Mr. Maliki was democratically elected - and I've heard conflicting reports as to whether the elections were free of U.S. influence peddling - then it is right to embrace him as the legitimate leader.  I think our presense there would be enhanced if we hadn't allowed so much looting to take place after the major fighting ended and if Halliburton had not received huge, no-bid contracts.  It would be easy for Dems and Repubs. to reach middle ground if issues like those were discussed freely by both sides.  Bush has actually stopped and listened to more criticism lately - hopefully it's not just a ploy to get his party votes in '06.

Thank you for the thought-provoking, well-written piece.    --Shawn, "Tall and Skinny Politico"

Kingmi
A good post. It is not the height of a man that makes him stand tall. He is a courageous man, or he would be out of the WH by now. He is a man of strength. I believe his courage, strength and religious conviction are the three characteristics that draw the hatred of him like steel to a magnet. They are also the three characteristics that have kept up from attack.
