Kat02, I understand, part of me wishes he would have lived, and another
part is glad he didn't -- Hussein lived, and look at the mess his trial is!

While I Can Appreciate Where Fourcats is coming from
and to be honest, under different circumstances I would agree. But as relieved as I was to hear he was dead, there was a part of me that wondered...did they really get the right guy?
This may sound cold and morbid, but for my own peace of mind, I NEEDED to see he was really the person they killed.

Have you considered..
That it was a necessary task to prove across the Muslim world that he was dead? No photo....the whispered doubt keeps the possibility of his still being alive going???

i thought it to be undignified and crass. it matters not what they have
done or who's done what. we should be respecting the feelings of those who love him, regardless of our opinion. "our" showing the photo, framed no less!, is absolutely no better than photos of "them" proudly displaying the severed heads of soldiers.
and this is where america differs now from the past. america rallied the troops and support from other countries during WWII because they showed empathy and respect to the prisoners. but that all changed with the korean and vietnam wars. now we're just as guilty of sadistic crimes against humanity as the rest of them and it's only because the world at large continues to fear the u.s. that george w. doesn't find his butt in a very dangerous sling. but the day has come that some don't fear the u.s. and we are seeing the results with homeland terror. the war has made it's way onto american soil and until the western hemisphere returns to a sensible mindset, it's only going to get uglier.
