The ACU's are brand new.  They are the new digital uniform.  EVERYONE will be getting them which is another factor for me.  Carl takes pride in his uniform period but his DCU's mean so much more to him.  He earned those.  The only real need for DCU's is if you are in a desert area which right now means combat zone.  He put his life on the line to wear that uniform and as silly as it may sound, that means something to those that wear it.

Bel,

I have to ask MG about ACUs and DCUs and what he remembers about them, he got out of the Army in about 1991, I think.     I draw the line at ironing his tshirts, though, lol.  He does that himself (sometimes).  Now that he's in sales, it's shirts and slacks, with a sports jacket.

He has a pretty grabbable butt, too, which is the icing on the cake, that and nice calves.  For some reason, skinny calves on a guy really turn me off.

add to that he has the finest butt I have ever had the pleasure of grabbing as it walks by, he is quite a keeper!

Miss Maggie
I know how much you support the troops and I hope you realize how deeply your love and concern is appreciated not just by me but by anyone who loves a soldier or is a soldier.  That support is what makes what we all go through worth the pain.

For me the other uniforms hold sentiment but even Carl hates the new ones.  He was a spit shine boots, pressed uniform regular Army for too long, he refers to the ACU's as pajama's.  Sadly while these uniforms may be functional they have stolen some of the pride of a uniform from the troops.

Hi, bel_1965,
I have my own mixed feelings about those ACU's.  Most of me says, Yuck, too, but I'm trying to see the good side in them.  You're right, they don't quite have the same things going for them as the DCUs or old BDUs.  There's a sense of pride in those, when they're really nicely pressed.  And, as always, our troops remain in my thoughts and prayers.  God bless and keep them all.  I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend.  Now, I hope you get some rest.  :)

Bel,
A man who irons, what more can you ask?  It sounds like quite the weekend for you and Carl, his unit and their families.  Take care and I send the best of wishes.
