I've had a lot os stuff published here in Spain in free magazines, and I expect there's such a market in Britain.
Free mag editors aren't likely to be as picky as those on the majors, and most of them are always looking for articles, especially of local/local historical interest.
Okay, they don't pay much ; I'm paid about €100 for an article ( Mostly on Spanish history )of 1,600/1,900 words. Keeps one ticking over.
Why not try some? Let me know if you do, okay?
