Sophisti I think you need not worry, let it roll off your back. They
are simply living in fear. It is as you said in the first paragraph. If they can get to you they will. If they can't then they will leave you alone. It is life, not the best of it but that happens so often. Be kind to them, that is a real weapon sometimes.

Thanks for the Comments
This is a real challenge!! I agree that flexibility is the key and that one must be self.  I need to be aware of the politics and figure a way to survive!!

Sophistie...
When I read your post this morning, it made me think of something I once read about how storms strike with the most fury at the timberline the storms where the sturdiest of trees are found. I have always considered those middle level supervisors to be some of the more sturdy trees! Blessings...

I see my boss, who is the program manager in the group home...
I work in take shots from head office, and frontline co-workers (hands on caregivers) telling me how they would do so much better than him...been there and done that...couldn't hack playing politics to be honest

Hi Sophistie....SilverMoon gives good advice.....flexibility...
That is the key, but boy, that is like doing a balancing act on the high wire...lol....tough in every position, depends on the people in those positions many times...

Being the middleman is a hard job and goes with the territory, I'm afraid.  I think the best course of action is to just be yourself...  and as diplomatic as possible.  Middle management requires lots of flexibility in all areas...

It's never easy to be in "sandwiched" in the middle.
