Ariala, I doubt that. I'm sure, if you set your mind to it, you could do
it!

I would be a quantum physicists, but I'm stupid.

MandaLee, there's a woman who is soon to be a big name Christian author
She lives in Holland, MI and does most of her writing in her husband's coffee shop.  I would think that's a great place to write and would imagine she gets plenty of material for her book from "eavesdropping" on conversations, or at the very least from people watching.

I find that when I'm helping others, I feel better about myself.

Sounds like ya'll can relate to that, eh??

Whacky, that's for sure!
People need help, and we need to help each other.

Jane,
I would be a writer or teacher, or anything around people.

I'm looking forward to reading it, Janes,
(The second one I mean, Bait and Switch).  Ditto on Whacky's comment, I really need to feel like I'm going something useful for someone else.  It's hard to convince myself that writing is a socially useful activity at times, but it is necessary for me.

I like a job where I can help people...there always a need.

Blanche, thanks for the tip. I have heard of her,
but not read any of her books.  I'll add her works to my list of books to read!

JanesOpinion,
Have you ever read any books by Barbara Ehrenreich?  She's written two that I know of:  I have a copy of "Nickeled And Dimed: On Not Getting By In America"  and "Bait and Switch", which I have on hold at the library and need to pick up .  Nickeled and Dimed is her story of going undercover and researching how anyone survives on minimum wage jobs (not very well) and Bait and Switch, I'm more eager to read, on being white-collar and college-educated and the whole enterprise of recruiters, jobs fairs, career fairs, etc. which cost money but don't necessarily net a good-paying job.

Taps, if your verbal acuity is anything like your written . . .

I can see why people would hang on your every word.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

I'm afraid so, JanesOpinion
Did quite a bit of that sort of thing in church related field years ago and I loved it.   There's nothing more invigorating than speaking to a group of 25 - 50 adults who hang on your every word.

Taps, are you saying that you like telling others what to do???

In all seriousness, I think you would make an excellent consultant!  Perhaps you could give wise counsel for rehab and long term care facilities as to how to do a better job with less money!!

JanesOpinion
I'd choose to be a consultant.    But, don't ask me in what line.   HAHAHA

mysteria, on being a mad scientist?

on contentment in the workforce?

on jobs?

I'm so danged busy with my current job that I have little time for blogging.  Which is maddening.  Perhaps I should also consider this MAD scientist business!

Flightpath, what a great comment!
You sound satisfied.  I like that!  I'm not there yet . . . but working on it!!!

Amen Blanche. It works for me.

And I can see you fitting in to a similar mold . . . .

Mysteria, fact is, we need more mad scientists in the US of A!!!

(OK, perhaps not mad, necessarily, but definitely scientific!)

I'll give it some thought. ...Oh, wait!! I've already had most of the jobs I'd choose.

JanesOpinion, ,
I like your mix: nurse/investor/philanthropist/author, and just the idea of a variety.   I like the idea of having a flexible schedule and lots of time to think quietly.
