kingmi - Chavez wanted Mexican immigrants to be allowed to work ...
... toward legal status, but if they WEREN'T legal, he wanted to prevent them from working in the US as it reduced the pay for the LEGAL workers. Exactly what I'm wanting to see.

kingmi - In 1969, Chavez and members of the UFW marched ...

... through the Imperial and Coachella Valley to the border of Mexico to protest growers' use of illegal aliens as temporary replacement workers during a strike.

Joining him on the march were both the Reverend Ralph Abernathy and U.S. Senator Walter Mondale. Chavez and the UFW would often report suspected illegal aliens who served as temporary replacement workers as well as who refused to unionize to the INS."

Why is it that noone in this country ...
is the least bit concerned why our neighbors and the rest of the world are rejecting the new "global" economy? Why are leftists getting elected on promises that they will stand up to big business and US corporations? Could it be that they feel their country is being exploited because of their oil reserves?

kingmi - Even CESAR CHAVEZ was against illegal immigrants. He ...
... stated rightfully that it damaged legal migrant workers by driving down wages and benefits.
