Comments on Cranial Electromagnetics: YES or NO?

((( mysteria )))

That couldn't be more true.  I once had a watch that was permanently stopped by a magnet.  A friend had one of his younger brothers playing with the TV picture with a very strong Alnico magnet.  We were all quite entertained by the draw that the magnet had on the TV picture.  His mother was not at all entertained by how quickly the TV repair man was drawn to the house for an expensive degaussing operation.  All of those things drawn by a simple magnet.  I'm drawn to do the picture experiment again, but I think I might use an old TV.  Drawing the repair man is not at all entertaining.

I haven't been reading you very much lately, have I?  I promise to be over soon.  Sometimes I wonder why I do what I do.  Other times I wonder why I don't do what I don't do.  Maybe I need to be degaussed.

Magnets have a fastinating draw to them...

Whacky,
LOL
I thought about putting that very thing into the post, but it started getting too long.  I am quite sure that I have seen hat bands with magnets in them advertised.  You might even find something along those lines on Ebay.  It would certainly be more practical than duct tape, and if the magnets were bouncing around in a hat band, they would probably be much more effective than if they were taped to a fixed location on your head.  Of course, another thought here would be in a workout, or Dancing Diva, headband.  Kind of a kill two birds with one stone approach.  Or is that a kill one bird with two stones approach?

Nanar,

I haven't really looked into the cranial aspect of it to any great degree, but I have heard of it.  In my preceding comment I mentioned the possible cranial effects of EM fields created by cell phones.  I am sure you have heard about that in the news.

I may look into it on Google to see what I can find.  I have heard of the healing effects that you speak of, although I have never tried it myself.  I'm curious about your results.  I have no doubt that such a thing could work.  From my knowledge of the biological sciences and magnetics, I would think that a magnetic field generated by either a pulsed DC voltage or an AC voltage would have even more of an effect on tissue stimulation.  The tissue stimulation, in my opinion, would be the major factor in accelerated healing.

I started this post as something of a satire, but comments that have come along have given me a desire to look into the entire thing further.  Thanks for commenting.....

RockyMtn,

I don't really have an opinion one way or another on magnetic therapy, but I have spent quite a bit of time in the study of  sciences and electronics.  As far as I am concerned, the matter is an open question.  I look upon it with an open mind and am always curious to hear people speak of their own beliefs and experiences.  I cannot understand why there isn't more research done in the area.  That there would be effects on the nervous system, which includes the brain, would be of no surprise to me at all.  I would tend to believe someone who said there were effects more than I would someone who said there were not.

The only thing that I know of that is fairly widely accepted without question, is the fear of cellular phones causing some brain disorder.  There aren't really studies of that of which I have any knowledge, but cell phone signals are nothing more than electromagnetic fields.  To have that fear is to confess to belief in the influence of magnetic fields on the human body.  To have that fear while denying the possibility of other magnetic effects is self-contradiction.

Thanks for your comment.

Really? Can I just put them in my hat?

I've used magnets too!  They really help to speed up healing of injuries.  Haven't heard of this cranial stuff though.

Jack....

I thoroughly believe in magnetic therapy and have been using it for years. Cranial Electromagnetics is an area I am not familar with but this post contained excellent information. Thank you!

I have seen the same thing myself.  I don't doubt the possibility, but without statistical studies using a structured scientific methodology, it's nothing more than voodoo salesmanship.

I've read about magnets sewn into clothing. Function for cures of ailments.
