your post should be required reading by every American who thinks he has their mind made up on the immigration issue. As you know, here in Texas, it's hard to qualify for welfare, legally or illegally.

I enjoyed reading this thought-provoking post. I have worked with many immigrant workers who are just trying to make a living, like the rest of us, and from what I've seen, each is just doing the best he can. The ill will demonstrated by many folks on various sides of this issue is unfortunate and sad. It's also quite reminiscent to me of some of the darkest portions of our history, only repeating itself, as if we haven't learned. Just my thoughts. Thanks. :)
