Cypress, I agree. Line item veto makes perfect sense.

As a registered Republican I applaud your post. As a realist I would start with baby steps. To get physical reform Congress must give our President the line item veto. Time to cut a little PORK out of the budget.

Good post...hindsight is 20/20. Yes we have made mistakes along the way, but I have yet to see a Democrate come up with a better solution. We live and learn...and we have learned a lot from all these misktaes, but never for one minute do I believe that all this is the President's fault.. Just my 2 cents lady!!

Great observation, Justsouno.
It's the small businesses that will carry this country.

Jane's Excellent post. The latest is that American Small Business
is at an all time high in production, profits and they have always been the backbone of the work force in America. This is due to the tax cut that has allowed them to grow. We can depend on the big companies not even being ours they outsource and they are owned by investors all over the world now -- not the little ones. Keep telling them I am too old and tired to keep talking, you go girl.

Writer -- GO FOR IT!
We need some balanced perspective here . . . .
I think we can thank GWB's tax cuts for keeping us out of a recession (or as some would say, a worse recession).

Has anyone done a study . . .
. . . of the specific effect Bubba's tax increases had in bursting his economic bubble?

I have a long list of things that I am not happy with GW about.......
But why do I need to mention them on Blogit....it's hard enough sifting through the whines about him from his detractors.....why give them real ammunition to replace the blanks they are using........

Yeah, Corbin, perhaps the Dems under Al Gore
would have ushered in the 1000 year reign of peace and prosperity.
(Pardon me while I giggle and chuckle and laugh my head off.)

I am actually encouraged by your post!
At least one Bush defender admits the POSSIBILITY of the President and the Republican-controlled Congress making A mistake (Part D).
Baby steps.

Thanks sarooster.
And I would concur that there are some things that could have been done differently. But you are so right that history -- negative history -- did not start with George W. Bush.

A great work janes!
I seem to think some things could have been done better and some things were done wrong. It's a mixture fo things that got us where we are today. It has been caused by both side though; Democrat and Republican. We have had some major things to deal with in the past few years, but we are doing fine. The left seems to think history started when George Bush took office. All that is bad and evil is his doing. Your post is very good. I am sure the left will attack you in earnest. But your words ring true and with much foresight and wisdom, mixed in with some hindsight.
